Meet Our Staff
Dr. Ben Dixon Phillips, DVM
Education: Vanderbilt University BA, Middle Tennessee State University, MST, Auburn University, DVM
Dr. Phillips grew up in Shelbyville, Tennessee. Caring for family pets and ponies was a passion from a very early age. On the farm, he learned a work ethic that embraced “sun-up to sun-down” hours and total dedication. That work ethic served him well as a student: at Auburn, he was honored with membership in Phi Zeta, the National Veterinary Medical Honor Society, and it has served him well as a veterinarian.
Recently, Dr. Phillips was honored at the annual meeting of the South Carolina Association of Veterinarians as “South Carolina’s Veterinarian of the Year.” He was recognized by his peers for “being quietly focused and steadfast in his loyalty to the things that are important to him: his family and Veterinary Medicine. He works tirelessly to bring integrity, professionalism, responsibility, and respectability to the practice of Veterinary Medicine. He is also a compassionate employer who genuinely cares for his staff and their welfare.” He was recognized for his work as a volunteer in numerous positions in the community.
Dr. Phillips loves interacting daily with long-standing Cleveland Park clients and friends and welcoming new clients into the Cleveland Park family. He enjoys surgery, photography, gardening, and he excels at spoiling grandchildren.
Dr. Karl Derek Wessinger, DVM
Education: Presbyterian College, University of Georgia
Dr. Wessinger came to Cleveland Park Animal Hospital in 1982. He received his B.S. from Presbyterian College and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia. His primary interests are large animal medicine and reproduction. Dr. Wessinger is an outdoorsman who loves living the quiet life on the shores of Stoddard Mill Lake with his wife, Jean. He has four daughters and enjoys spending time with his beautiful grandchildren.
Dr. Meighan Hammett, DVM
Education: Furman University; University of Georgia School of Veterinary Medicine
Dr. Hammett grew up near Columbia, South Carolina, but she fell in love with Greenville while she was a student at Furman University. After receiving an B.A. degree in Biology, she went on to attend the University of Georgia School of Veterinary Medicine. She earned her degree in 2013. Her curriculum emphasized both Large and Small Animal Medicine. She was very excited to return to the upstate and join the Cleveland Park team following her graduation. Her special interests include soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, and cuddling new puppies.
In her free time Dr. Hammett enjoys running, hiking, DIYing with her husband, and experiencing the great food and local entertainment of the upstate.
Dr. Hammett and her husband welcomed their baby boy, Asher, to the Cleveland Park family in March of 2017!
Dr. Heather Miller, DVM
Education: Clemson University, Bachelor of Science-Biochemistry. The Ohio State University, Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine, Masters Degree in Virology.
Dr. Heather Miller has been with Cleveland Park Animal Hospital for over 5 years. She worked at our clinic in Simpsonville from 2006-2010 before taking a position at the Greenville Zoo as the Deputy Administrator for Animal Health where she enjoyed the challenge of caring for exotic species for just over 5 years. We are so happy to have her back with the Cleveland Park Animal Hospital family, by working three days a week at our Greenville location, Dr. Miller has a little more time for her family and training for the occasional marathon. Dr. Miller loves seeing exotic patients and during veterinary school, she had completed externships at The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, University of Georgia in the exotic animal specialty ward, and Disney's Animal Kingdom.
She has three children, two dogs, two cats, a bird, and a bunny to complete a full and fun house!
Dr. Andrew W. Roark, DVM
Education: B.A., Davidson College; M.A. in Zoology and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, University of Florida
Dr. Andy Roark practices at all three Cleveland Park locations. He is also an author and international speaker. He is an award-winning columnist for DVM360 and has a regular column on Vetstreet.com. Dr. Roark’s popular Facebook page has over 100,000 fans, and his humorous educational videos have been viewed over a half million times.
Dr. Roark has received the Outstanding Young Alumni Award from the University of Florida’s College of Veterinary Medicine and has been named Practice Management Speaker of the Year at NAVC twice, one of the world’s largest veterinary conferences. Dr. Roark was also named “One of the 25 Veterinarians to Watch in 2013″ by Veterinary Practice News.
His wife, Alison, is a Biology professor at Furman University. They are the parents of two daughters.
Dr. Catherine Roseveare, DVM
Education: University of Georgia, University of South Carolina
Dr. Roseveare has been with us on a part-time basis since February 2012. She is from Atlanta and received her DVM from the University of Georgia. Additionally, she holds a Master’s in Public Health from the University of South Carolina. In addition to serving at CPAH, Dr. Roseveare is an adjunct professor at Spartanburg Community College where she teaches Anatomy and Physiology.
She has a cat named “Chewy” (named by her husband) and a puppy named “Cookie” (named by her daughter). The puppy thinks the cat’s name is literal!
Lori grew up in Colorado but fell in love with Greenville, South Carolina when she and her husband, Mark, first came here twenty years ago. Along with their three children, they moved, opened a new business, and put down roots. The business, Rhino Linings of Greenville, has flourished.
Mark and Lori love long walks in downtown Greenville, the local entertainment, parks, and great restaurants. Lori is a multi-talented manager who will tackle any job. She has even been known to fix the plumbing!!
Head Customer Service Representative
Brittney Whiten joined our staff in 2005. Her warm smile and quiet and courteous demeanor endear her to clients as soon as they walk through the door. She communicates well with clients and is respected by all the members of the staff.
Her favorite pastime is spending time with her husband, Ben, and their son, Dylan along with their 2 dogs and 2 cats. Brittney and Ben enjoy following Clemson sports, working on their home, and spending time with family.
Haley is a native of Greenville, South Carolina. She joined the staff of Cleveland Park in September 2012.
Hayley is very patient and kind, she loves ballet, tap dancing, and reading.She enjoys being a receptionist at Cleveland Park Animal Hospital because she loves greeting our fantastic clients and our furry, and sometimes scaly patients!
She is happiest when she is spending time with her husband and two sons, Chandler and Carson. On the weekend they enjoy traveling and experiencing new and exciting things!
Lauren was born in New York and raised in Florida. She moved here in 1997 and has loved Greenville ever since. She attended Greenville Technical College and became a Certified Veterinary Assistant.
Lauren joined the Cleveland Park family in November of 2012.
She loves spending time with her husband, Will, and their 3 dogs Booger, Oliver, and Emmylou. She enjoys playing and listening to music, hiking, and camping with their twin daughters, Edith and Esme!
Amy lives in Simpsonville with her husband, Dacus, and 3 children Breanna, Cory, and Cole. She joined the Cleveland Park family in October of 2015.
Amy is thoughtful and compassionate and enjoys singing, reading and spending time with her family. On the weekends they like to go the beach, watch the Atlanta Braves, and go hiking! They share their home with their dog, Duke!
Alyssa joined our Cleveland Park team in May of 2017. She is from Fort Lauderdale, Florida and currently lives in Pelzer.
Alyssa is kind-hearted and compassionate and enjoys meeting our clients and patients to create lifelong relationships. When she is not greeting you at our front desk you will find her going on adventures and traveling with her dog Kovu and boyfriend, Chase.
Licensed Veterinary Technician
Nicki began work with Cleveland Park Animal Hospital as an intern with Tri-County Technical College’s Veterinary Technician program in May 2005 and was hired full time in May 2006.
In the past few years, she has added to the Cleveland Park family two beautiful daughters, Avery and Raegan, and a handsome son, James. She and her family enjoy their spare time caring for the many animals on their farm and traveling to new and exciting places!
Dannon grew up in Greenville, SC and joined our hospital team in November 2009. She graduated from Travelers Rest High School in 2009. Dannon completed the Veterinary Technology degree program at Piedmont Technical College in May 2013.
Dannon enjoys spending time with her husband, Jay and son, Nolan. They like to spend their free time at Palmetto Armory in the shooting range.
She has 5 pets, 2 cats, Bentley and Ziggy, and 3 dogs named Harvey, Bear, Chloe.
Kayla F. Collins
Kayla grew up in Cross Anchor, South Carolina. She graduated from Tri-County Technical College in May 2013 in the Veterinary Technology program.
She joined the Cleveland Park family in January 2012.
At home, Kayla enjoys spending time with her husband, Nathan, and their pugs, Cortana, Zoey, and Bugsy! She also loves play video games, eats sushi, and watch movies!
Lauren lives in Greenville. She graduated from Tri-County Technical College in 2014. She has been working at Cleveland Park Animal Hospital since 2013 and enjoys giving lots of love to the patients. Lauren enjoys fostering dogs and loving on her own two, Fiddle and Ford.
Lauren enjoys going to the beach with her fiance and their daughter, Parker.
Amber began working with Cleveland Park Animal Hospital in October of 2016. She graduated in 2013 from Tri-County Technical College in the Veterinary Technology program.
Amber enjoys spending time with her husband, Ben. She also likes to ride horses, watch movies, and go camping! Amber enjoys working at Cleveland Park Animal Hospital because she enjoys seeing the hospitalized patients get better and able to go home happy and healthy!
Amber and Ben currently live in Central with their 5 dogs, 4 horses, 1 pot belly pig, 3 rabbits, and 1 cat!
Morgan joined our team in May of 2017. She went to Tri-County Technical College and graduated in 2012. She enjoys working at Cleveland Park Animal Hospital mostly because we are AAHA accredited and practice the highest quality of good medicine. She also enjoys learning and helping treat our exotic patients.
Morgan and her husband, Jared, enjoy being outdoors, playing video games, and listening to music.
They share their home with 4 cats: Rikku, Tank, TJ, Lily. 1 dog named Roxy, and 2 rats; Winkey and Stinkey.
Megan joined our team in October 2017. She graduated from Tri-County Technical College in 2013 from the Veterinary Technology program.
Megan enjoys playing video games and playing with her cat, Billy, and two dogs, Gi and Commanche.
Amanda began as a grooming assistant at Cleveland Park Animal Hospital in February 2002. Her conscientious work ethic and compassion for patients earned her a promotion to veterinary assistant in January 2004.
Amanda enjoys exercise and spending time with her husband, Todd, and daughter, Courtney.
Sarah joined our Cleveland Park family in January 2017 as an intern. She is currently going to Tri-County Technical College to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician and will graduate in May of 2018.
Sarah enjoys traveling, hiking, trying new recipes, and spending time outside.
She currently lives in Central and shares her home with her kitten, Julep!
Samantha joined the Cleveland Park Animal Hospital family in 2017. She is currently attending TriCounty Technical College attending the Veterinary Technician program and will graduate in May of 2018.
She has lived in Greenville for about 21 years, and previously in Chicago and Delaware.Samantha enjoys long walks down the aisles of Target, being outdoors, and riding horses. She enjoys working at Cleveland Park Animal Hospital because of the lifelong friendships that she is making with our patients and teammates!
Samantha shares her home with her two dogs, Gabe and Oliver and is planning on adopting a Bernedoodle in December.
Melissa joined our team in June of 2017. She has a Bachelor of Science and is currently going to TriCounty Tech for the Veterinary Technician program where she plans to graduate in 2020.
Melissa and her husband, Bryan enjoy spending time with their daughter, Caitlyn. As a family, they enjoy cooking, shopping, and reading books. They share their home with Hallie, their 2-year-old chocolate lab.
Melissa enjoys working at Cleveland Park Animal Hospital because she gets to see and learn about many different types of animals.
Donna is a Greenville native who has been with Cleveland Park Animal Hospital since August 1995.
Donna is our resident “cat-expert,” having 15 of her own! She also can be seen leaving the hospital some days with the “Yorkie parade”-consisting of 2 special needs Yorkshire Terriers; Ralphie and Fancy Pants. In her spare time, Donna enjoys crafts and photography.
Natalie is a native of Greenville, South Carolina. She joined our team in March 2016.
Natalie enjoys attending her son's baseball games and spending time with her friends and family. She is happiest when she is with her 2 sons and husband, Landon.
The Stokes family share their home their dog Jenson Boo Bear and Layla Bear.
Donna’s motto is “let our family take care of your family”. She is originally from Burlington, Vermont. She moved to Spartanburg and began working as a veterinary technician at Brushy Creek Veterinary Hospital. After 5 years, Donna began grooming with her sister in law at Beauties and Beasts before coming to CPAH in 1997.
Donna has 2 children, Toddy and Crista and two beautiful granddaughters. She has a dog named Buttercup!
Crista is Donna Kirby’s daughter and has been employed here since May 2011 as a groomer’s assistant.
She enjoys working with animals and would like to learn how to groom animals. She has 2 ferrets, 3 dogs, and a cat!
Crista and her fiance, James, enjoy spending time with their daughter, Alana. On the weekends they like to take weekend trips to the mountains.
Melisa is a native of Colombia, South America. She was hired in May 2011.
She loves playing with her long hair Chihuahua named Cleo, a Shih Tzu named Princess Maddie, a Yorkshire terrier named Penelope, a geiko named Leo. Melisa is planning to attend the Veterinary Technician program next year.
Melisa enjoys eating new foods, working out, traveling to the mountains, and outdoor activities with her friends and family.
Caitlin is born and raised in Fountain Inn, South Carolina. She joined the Cleveland Park family in November 2016.
She is currently going to Piedmont Technical College to be a Veterinary Technician for livestock!
Caitlin enjoys riding horses, hunting, playing with animals, and traveling. She likes to spend her free time with friends and her dog Snickers!
Meaghan was born and raised in Mauldin and joined the Cleveland Park family in July of 2017.
She enjoys listening to music, eating, trail riding, going to the gym and creating laughter-filled moments. Meaghan is currently getting her associates in science with plans to transfer to Clemson with a major in Agricultural Education.
She shares her home with her 4 dogs Bo, Will, Turkey, and Pig.
